Where are you located?
You’ll find us at Harbor Marina, in front of Harry’s Prohibition Bistro in the South Pier District, along the Sheboygan Riverfront.
What are your operating hours?
We’re open Tuesday through Sunday, from 10:00 am to 7:00 pm.
How much does a rental cost?
Prices vary by boat and rental duration. Click Book Now to view available boats, current rates, and rental times.
Do I need a boating license?
Proof of license will be required before you can get on our boat. Any person born before January 1, 1989, is only required to have a valid driver’s license. You must be 18 or older to operate a vessel from Soak Up the Sun Rentals. If you were born after January 1, 1989, then you must complete a boater’s safety exam by clicking on the button below.
Do I need to sign a waiver?
Yes. A waiver is available on our website and will also be provided at the dock for your party to sign. Please arrive 10 minutes before your reservation.

Soak Up the Sun Rentals determines whether weather conditions require rescheduling. If we cancel your rental due to inclement weather, you’ll be offered another day or a gift card for a future rental.
What is your cancellation policy?
Without Cancellation Protection, we do not offer refunds. You may reschedule or receive credit up to three days before your reservation. If you purchase Cancellation Protection, you may cancel up to 12 hours before your reservation for a full refund.
What if our group has more than 10 people?
Contact us to discuss your group size. We can help you explore options, including booking multiple boats within their permitted passenger capacities.
Boats & Your Cruise
What types of boats do you offer?
We offer classic retro boats from the jet-age era and spacious donut boats that seat up to 10 people. Both styles are electric and driven by you.
Do you provide captains?
No. Our boats are self-driving, so a member of your party will operate the boat. Before departure, we’ll explain the cruising area and show you where to go.
Can I bring food, drinks, and a cooler?
Yes! Bring your favorite snacks, beverages, and cooler to enjoy during your cruise. Bluetooth speakers are also provided. Contact us with any special requests.
How fast do the boats go?
Our electric retro and donut boats cruise at approximately 4 mph. The Sheboygan River is a no-wake area, making it ideal for a leisurely ride.
Where can we cruise?
You can explore the designated river and channel cruising area. Our retro and donut boats may not travel past the breakwall onto Lake Michigan. We’ll review a map with you before departure.
Can we swim, fish, or tow anything behind the boat?
No. Swimming from our rental boats, fishing from retro or donut boats, and towing are not permitted.
Are children and dogs welcome?
Absolutely! Children ages 13 and younger must wear a life jacket. All our boats are dog-friendly; please bring a towel to protect the seats from claws. If you have a larger dog, we can help you choose a suitable boat.
Do you provide life jackets?
Yes. Life jackets are provided on every boat, with sizes available for infants through adults.
